Entitled an ordinance to amend "The Marriage Ordinance,1875

1. This ordinance may be cited as "The Mar-
riage Law Asenament" Ordinance, 1896, and shall be read with
anu construed as one ordinance with Ordinance 14 of 1875.
2. Section 39 of Ordinance 14 of 1875 is
hereby repealed and in lieu thereof it is hereby enacted as
follows:-
* This ordinance shall apply to all marriages
where neither of the parties has an undivorced husband or
wife living.
3. In the event of two parties wishing to
contract a marriage before the Registrar General under the
provisions of section 24 of urdinance 14 of 1870, they shall
each of them, before being permitted to do so,sign a written
acelaration in the presence of the Registrar General, which
he shall witness, in the form set out in schedule A to this
urainance. Such declaration shall, il necessary, be inter-
preted to both or either of the parties in their own lan-
glage in the presence of the Registrar General, anu the
person interpreting such declaration shall subscribe Lis
name to it as interpreter.
